El dia de los muertos will be celebrated this year with Mariachi music.

Las Catrinas Cantan is the 7nth annual International Mariachi’s women festival celebrating the day of the dead this year.

The festival will be able for everyone via livestream on October 24, 2020 at 7:30p.m.

Festival guests are welcome to create an altar for their loved ones while also dressing up as a Catrina or a Catrin.

It will have spectacular performances from Mariachi Reyna de Los Ángeles, along with two-time Grammy award winning Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea with a special performance by London and England’s Mariachi Las Adelitas.

“With the challenges posed by this pandemic, I applaud these amazing mariachi women rising above and working with us to pivot into a virtual format,” said Leonor Xochitl Pérez, founder and director of the International Mariachi Women’s Festival and executive director of the Mariachi Women’s Foundation.

“We aim to build a beautiful celebration online and invite guests to join the festival in empowering mariachi women as they keep our beautiful mariachi tradition alive and share it with the world,” she continued.

The virtual concert will last an hour and half starting at 7:30 p.m. until 9p.m.

Tickets are available to purchase at Las Catrinas Cantan official website.

The festival is proudly presented by Mariachi Women’s Foundation, a non-profit organization that acknowledges and empowers women in the mariachi industry internationally.

They first launched their annual international Mariachi Women’s festival six years ago in 2014.
