"Amorcito Corazón" is an iconic bolero from Mexico's Golden Age of Cinema, with lyrics by Pedro de Urdimalas (real name Jesús Camacho Villaseñor, born 1911 in Guadalajara, Jalisco) and music by Manuel Esperón. Written in 1948, it was featured in the landmark film "Nosotros los Pobres" (1948), directed by Ismael Rodríguez, where Pedro Infante performed it in a famous carpentry workshop scene alongside Blanca Estela Pavón. The song has a tragic backstory: Urdimalas originally wrote it for his fiancée Elvira as a wedding song, but she died in a car accident just 15 days before their wedding. The melody was born when Esperón, frustrated after a rejected first attempt, leaned against a piano at Churubusco Studios and accidentally struck the notes that became the song's opening — a piano plaque at the studio commemorates this moment. The song became synonymous with Pedro Infante and has been covered by Luis Miguel (Mis Romances, 2001) and Chayanne, among many others.
